Big Brother Finale - My View.

Wow! Look at Davina's hair! Is she trying to be Elvis Presley? The quiff is simply ginormous! The shiny outfit, oh dear! I don't think I'm liking this look, and you normally look cool, Davina! For the remainder of this blog I shall call her Elvina.

Everyone is booing when she mentions Bea. Surprise Surprise.

Urgh, Siavash is walking around in that leotard that they're making him wear. What a disaster! The silly bugger is on about leaving when there's only a few days left. Is that not attention-seeking?

Argh! David's eyeliner! What is he thinking! Sophie looks glamorous and seems to have miraculously grown a new head of hair, compared to recent times, (with the song composed by skinhead fellow housemate Lisa "Sophie's got no hair" Go figure.)

Now it's Rodrigo's turn to give his 'toast' He is describing all of his drama queen behaviour over the last 'god knows how long it's been'

Charlie's in tears and they're all dancing like "Ring-a-rosie"

Elvina is back and she says she's gonna reveal the 5th Runner Up in a min. Three ex-housemates come on the stage to a barrage of boos. Saffia and whatsherface have made up now! Bless! Angel is wearing a bowl of congeiled Super Noodles on her head!

Shree looks like an 80's gameshow host. I've never heard so many boos! Barbie (Carly) and Ken are still together. Noreen reveals her relationship with arrogant American man is over. Siavash will be pleased. Marcus still has that bloody pony tail and I think Lisa is wearing the same clothes. No change there then.

Here it comes! Fifth place!.....

RODRIGO! I wonder if he's shocked that he didn't win. Not half as much as Charlie will be, I'll bet. Mostly cheers and a few boos accompany Roddy on the way out. Evlina's strutting around the catwalk of shame. She informs us that she's 'bracing herself for a Brazillian' i.e. Rodrigo, if you don't watch.

They're psychoanalysing Rodrigo now and playing back clips of him.

Rodrigo's family are now on the screen chanting his name and saying "Viva Brazil!" and he informs us his grandmother is 95, so that's impressive.

More drama queen clips ensue and he exits the stage.

Time for another one out!...

Charlie's out!! Siavash is babbling some nonsense about it being some kind of reverse conspiracy. He's probably just trying to make Charlie feel better after so expecting to win. Cheers and boos! (But mostly cheers.) He jumps up and down as he takes Elvina's hand. Who next, I wonder!

Charlie has his little interview and Blonde lady begins his pscyhoanalysis. They say he's grown up in the show. Hmm. Best bits shown and he's carted off.

THIRD!

David! And a barrage of boos. In half an hour he'll be evicted! Goodbye dodgy eyeliner. Siavash speculates that Sophie will win, I think he's probably right. Siavash has some metallic paint on his face so he looks like a Terminator! Outside the studio, Freddie says something to Elvina. I can't make out a word of it; he sounds stoned!

*3O MINUTE BREAK*

"It's down to two and it's over to you" states Elvina followed by a rundown of the elimination process! I think the quiff has gotten bigger!

OMG, clips back to Sophie show much weight she put on! She'll have to go on a diet when she gets out to get her 'glamour girl' career back on track. I really don't think she's pregnant with Kris's baby though, despite press speculation.

David trots out! Is he wearing high heels?! He is walking like he is. No, they're flat. He camps it up with claps and gymnastic finishing moves to a significant amount of boos.

Now he's sitting with Elvina and feeling 'absolutely bloody brilliant!' He looks ultra-pleased that he has finished third and Davina comments on his friendly personality. It is revealed that Robbie Williams had voted for David and after his clips are shown it's time for the winner to be announced!

She's now gonna talk to the house. They are huddled up on the sofa and the winner isssssss....

SOPHIEEE!

I knew it. I'm quite pleased for her as I wasn't a big fan of Siavash. Siavash has glitter in his hair, I have jsut noticed. It does look better straightened, for sure. Out he plops in his high heels and that bloody horrible leotard he had been forced to wear.

SIAVASH-inator straddles down the stairs amongst big boos but there are a lot of cheers too, to be fair.

He's now sitting down and his voice has gone. They are booing as Davina mentions his drama about threatening to leave the house the other day and he has to explain his voice has gone. Davina revelas where she got that repulsive jacket. Shame on River Island! I really hate it, but I like Davina. I mean Elvina. He apologises to the girlfriend he had, who he cheated on with Noreen. LOL as I just realised Isaac (Noirin's ex) stole Siavash's catchphrase of 'Rock'n'roll!" Siavash did have his good points.

Now it's time for Sophie to leave the house! 74.4% of the vote. I don't hear any boo's! Maybe they told the booers to shut up since the winner got boos last year. Fireworks all around! Bang bang bang! Davina's sparkly jacket is so bright it's literally making my eyes wince.

She's now chatting with Davina! I bet she can't wait to get those extensions sorted out. 'Kris' her house romance says 'well done, babes' and now it's time for clips of her and Rodrigo, her best buddy in the house. They do have a good friendship, it's clear!

Her best bits are shown and it did make me think she was quite an entertaining housemate, to be fair!

A run down of the series is shown and they've defo made it look good and reminded me of some of the best bits that I had forgotten.

There's more fireworks as she gets her 71 grand! Well done, Sophie. Certainly not well done to Davina's sylist, though! I hope she manages to look better for the finale of the final Big Brother next year!

June!

So, here we are in June! What's new? Well. Still no job, but maybe something will turn up soon. iPod Touch is still brilliant! There are sooooooo many apps! It's cool. I think you should all get one!

I got my hair trimmed the other day. I think I've abandoned the idea of growing my hair long becaus I think "it's not really me", however I'm still keeping it quite long and want a longer fringe than I currently have (I think)

I've been exercising more. If you would like to do more exercise and don't have any gym equipment, I recommend you look on YouTube for some cardio work-outs (that's what I do) I do a 10 minute Jump-cardio work out and it really does make you knackered! lol But that means it's working, right? I'm also trying to snack LESS.

I've managed to ruin my arrow keys on the laptop! LOL. If you ever find the keys are stiff and you think "Oh, I'll just take the keys off and put them back on, maybe that will help" like I did, DON'T. It's too risky. You have to be really careful, it's OK if only the top of the key comes off, but the whole mechanism came off, in this instance, and then it wouldn't go back together or attach back to the keyboard and I lost the little rubber spring. And then I tried to make a new key out of an unused keys mechanism. The end result is a drawer full of key bits, no UP key, no DOWN key, a Pause Break key with no spring, No scroll lock key, and there were 2 fake plain black "keys" and now one of them's gone too. DISASTER. God help me trying advertise this thing on eBay.

I want a netbook ASAP and I shall leave the keys alone!!! I also want a new phone. I have an LG Cookie. I haven't broken it (surprisingly) but I find it very awkward to text message on, because it's all touch screen and I think I want something like the Sony Ericsson W910. Only 99 quid on pay as you go T-Mobile, it has a big screen, customizable themes and WIFI!

Anyway, that's enough now LOL

New Song! "Our Broken Heart"

Hey!

I have a new songggg. It's called Our Broken Heart and it's an electro-pop/dance tune. You can check it out on www.myspace.com/mikecartermusic so please do so!!

The lyrics are:

Verse
So, goodbye,
I watched you leave me for the last time,
I could try,
And get you outside of my mind,

Bridge
You always like to leave an impression,
When I first met you, I didn't like you,
I know it's not much of a confession,
'Cos everyone feels the same,

Chorus
It's you and me, but you're gonna leave,
You're gonna lose everything,
I'll fall apart and our broken heart,
Will never be the same.

Music in Dreams

The other night I had this dream. I was in Longton, and I saw a woman who looked like Enya, singing outside of Carphone Warehouse. She was singing a song that my mind had somehow spontaneously created and it sounded good! It does make you think about how smart the human brain must be to do things like that. I have also dreamt complete tracks before that I've heard on the radio etc. in my dreams. I'm sure you all do it. Next time you hear music you've never heard before in a dream you should think about how your mind has created that piece and how in real life, the amount of thought goes into making a song and how long it takes. It's even weirder when the lyrics and tone of the melody actually seem to make sense. And it's all created in a second. O.o I'm rather spooked. LOL.

Windows 7 RC - First thoughts!

Windows 7 RC! It's very nice. Some nice new themes! I love the new login screen. The sound schemes are cool. Windows Media Center is very fancy! My friend was saying how much he loves the new media player. It's nice! I'm confused to where the "add to library" feature is meant to be located in it, though. I found it kinda by accident, through another thing.

It starts up pretty quick! There's now about 2 start-up processes, and 1 (or less) non-Microsoft services, by default. The new Media Center gadget is cool, but the television show it linked me to was only watchable in the US, so I can't really comment there. The Performance Information tool now works properly! (It didn't in the beta.)

Overall, it's very nice! I hopefully should enjoy using this through until next year. (One little thing, can't use 4oD because it thinks I have an old media player!) Good otherwise, though!

McDonald's Mayhem!

Well, I've just been to McDonald's. I got up to take rubbish to the bin to come back and find a kid from the table next to us was now sitting in my seat, opposite Shane. Rather than cause a fuss, I just sat on the stool at the side of the table. Then, when he left a minute or two later, I was only back in my seat for five minutes and I felt this sharp pain in my back as the kid threw a strop and lobbed a Happy Meal toy at his little sister which then rebounded off her head, leaving her in tears and then whacked me in the back!! OW. Luckily I was there to act as a shield for Shane otherwise it would have either hit him in the face or landed in the McFlurry which he was eating. I got an apology from one of the adults and I tried to see the funny side, and also the mother of the child said she wasn't coming back to McDonald's again which is probably for the best!

The Power of Rumour

Well, I've just been to job centre. Before I left the house, I heard on the radio that noxious fumes had been in Longton market, and people were being treated. On my way down to the job centre, I noticed tape around the Town Hall and a fire engine. I took an alternate route, avoiding the Town Hall, and I saw people chatting amongst themselves, presumably talking about the drama. It was like being in a role-playing computer game.

Apart from that it, was rather uneventful until I got back in the house. Apparently, my sister had called to say she'd heard "Longton had blown up and 50 people were killed" I have no idea where this would have come from, or how this rumour came to fruition. For a start, it only happened a few hours ago, so to concur that 50 people had been killed in that space of time seems a bit extravagant. It made me think maybe social networking has played a part with people spreading rumours, (like Chinese Whispers, maybe?) Either way, it didn't seem at all that bad. I can only say for sure when I have read what's happened in full in The Sentinel, or if I get an update on the radio. I can certainly tell you that, from what I saw, I did not walk amongst piles of rubble and Longton certainly hasn't "blown up."

Plushieee

Saw Shane today, woOo! Watched the Gadget Show and Primeval! Both were very good. On the Gadget Show, they were showing how good Twitter is for getting people to events. I guess you have to be pretty popular in the first place though!

I wanna buy some new cool things online to spruce up my room. I would like a Viva PiƱata Plush toy! I don’t think they exist though. =( I’ve googled and I can’t see anything. Others that I’m thinking of getting are a Monster inc. Mike Wazowksi, or a Nemo from Finding Nemo. Any other idea’s for a cool plush toy?

I think my friend Debbie might like these! http://animalcrossing.planets.gamespy.com/images/products/plush3.gif

Summer Approaches!

uWell we're in May already. Gosh! I don't know about you but it doesn't seem 5 minutes since I was at my sister's Christmas party making Playdoh Mr. Potato Head's with my 5 yr old niece and younger nephews haha!

Time is indeed moving on and most noticeably by the fact that my hair is now touching my shoulders. I intend to grow it longer though. I'm also wanting to go blonde. I would love to be a natural light blonde. I just can't afford the maintence at the moment. I don't trust box colours, especially as I've just been told that my hair has an underlying pigment of gold. I don't want it to go brassy. If I got it professionally coloured, it's about £22 every 6 weeks for a root touch-up. (You can get a contract phone for that much.) If you don't get the roots done though, it's gonna look really odd. Especially with the contrast of my mousey brown against a really light blond. Maybe highlights would be OK though!

So now hair's been discussed, what else is there? Shane and I plan to go Alton Towers this week so I'm gonna check the weather for that in a mo. I've got to go the job centre this week. Argh. lol. The jobsearch points (more like motherships) I go on seem to have problems recently. For example, one that I used, you press Continue to go on to the next page of available jobs and it just wasn't having any of it. You can bash away at it til next year but that new page isn't going to show. Little good it would do anyway. Bah! More jobs in food as a kitchen assistant, I noticed. They seemed to be ten a penny, but even those seem to be dwindling down as of late. I can hardly make myself a cup of tea and I have no common sense so I'm not going to be any use in a kitchen, am I?

Next... er, music! I'm starting to get back on track with my music, I think. I'm still kinda disheartened that I've not had anyone go WOW about tracks I have composed recently. Maybe they need to be more original, maybe I need to just spend more time on them. I think I have the potential to write good songs, especially because the track "How 2 Belong" that I wrote and produced with Tommy seems to have alot of fans. I've got a kind of computer-game electropop tinge to my tracks currently, but maybe that's just not cutting the mustard, maybe I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board. I DO know that I'm loving Bat For Lashes' song "Daniel" at the moment. It's such an evocative piece with such smart, elegant lyrics! Her voice rocks too!

Shane's been working today so it's not been like a normal Sunday. I did see him earlier though, which was great! We watched lots of "Just For Laughs" on Fiver. That's a great show, that is! A bit distasteful when this fake cleaner picked up a shovel of fake dog poo and threw it at passers by. Their reactions were priceless though and we laughed out louddddd. Fiver's also showing the Da Vinci Code film next Sunday. My parents are away so Shane will be stopping over and I think we may watch it. I hear the books quite good! I've not heard about the film. I've still got to watch Rugrats in Paris. It was one of my play.com impulse buys. £2.11 free delivery. How can one say no? I loved the first Rugrats Movie, so it had to be done. I'll see if Shane will watch it with me. He best not fall asleep watching it :P

Is there anything else I can talk about? Erm. Oh, I saw this Tamagotchi Music Star thing the other day, and it reminded me of how much I used to LOVE cyber pets. Did you all have them? I had an amazing orange talking cat one. "Talking Nano Kitty" One's for sale online, unopened for £67 o.O I don't know where mine is. =( Obviously it's been used though. Another thing I saw was a COLOUR Tamagotchi! They're only in Japanese and they have a backlit colour screen! The casing was VERY cheap and plain looking though. But anyway, the Tamagotchi Music Star allows you to take the old one to a new level by allowing it to become a music star! It's hardly going to be X Factor, is it? A melodic beep beep noise and a screen with as many pixels as peas on my Sunday lunch. A price tag of £12.49 too. I believe the original was £9.99. I was happy with the cheaper alternatives tbh. Though I did treat myself to the Talking Nano Kitty back in 1997 and I also bought a dalmation one that woofed. It was in the shape of a dog and I bought it from a school friend for £8. Those 2 were the best Cyber Pets, in my opinion.

Wow, this blog has turned into a mini novel. If you're still reading, well done! Or maybe it's well done me for writing something that kept you so hooked! (I wish) lol.

More to come! (Tomorrow, maybe) =P

Saturday 2 May 2009

New look! =)

I have updated the dreary blog! LOL. I think it was a bit too "rainy-day". Did anyone see Britain's Got Talent? The violinist was very good! I thought it was a shame her friend didn't get given another chance to audition solo. She was a good piano pianist and she said she wrote that song herself! I think it was a bit beyond Simon Cowell's comprehension as he called it "indulgent" o.O I think it was worthy of some praise! I also think the audience liked it, and Ant and Dec were shocked when they all buzzered them. But yes, a very good violinist either way! It was a shame to see her friend didn't turn up to wish her well though. If it were my friend, I'd have hoped they'd come to watch me in that situation. Maybe her pride was hurt because she didn't get another chance. =(

I'm looking forward to X Factor. Ooh! Eurovision's on soon too! Cheesy as hell, and SO UNFAIR. It's fun though, and me and my friend Will usually watch it and have a laugh talking about the sheer craziness of some of the acts and all the bad ones! Ha! Do you remember the man with huge shades and dressed up as a Christmas Tree? "Sieben, sieben, aye lu lu, sieben, sieben, eins, zwei!" Arghh! I think that song won! Not sure though. LOL. Will says that Graham Norton is presenting it this year as Terry Wogan has resigned. I think Graham's a good choice! He has the right sense of humour to narrate something like the Eurovision Song Contest. Isn't the song meant to be written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, too? I didn't follow that show, so I'm eager to hear the song and see which person was chosen!

Anyway, I think that's enough for tonight, ha ha. I'll write again soon!

Friday 1 May 2009

Ding Dong!

Well it's been quite a lazy day today tbh! I have applied for a job at PC World though, woo! Fingers crossed for that. As I write this, Alan Carr's Ding Dong is on in the background, but it's a repeat :( They really need to make a new series!

I've been writing a song that's quite chilled and a bit mellow but I think it sounds nice so I'm gonna work on that more tomorrow!

I want to spruce this blog up a tad because it's a bit plain, so I think I'm going to get the graphics tablet out tomorrow! =P Also my friend Debbie may be doing some cartoon version's of us, so that will be ace.

Bionic Commando Demo - Xbox 360 (First Impressions)

Well, first of all, whoever GRIN is, their company logo is very scary with the horrible, manky teeth thing going on. Got to the main screen. It’s quite basic! I was expecting something dramatic, and now I find it’s Xbox Live only so they’re putting me in a Deathmatch as I type this! I’ve had no say in the specific settings of it or anything, so it’s not very helpful. I know demo's are just meant to be a taster but gosh! The list of players is ready. (God help me cuz I’m crap at these games.)

Well.. I left after 5 minutes. As I expected, I was shot dead within two and the graphics weren't good! It was so dark I could hardly see!. The screenshots before I downloaded looked great! Comic book style superhero jumping around lush green environments but this demo, I think, just sucks!! I’m sure some people out there will love it. Not for me, thank you!

Is anybody out there??

This post is to see if anybody is reading my blogs! I've just made this account, but I can't see a way to socialise, and I was was just wondering if anyone is actually reading this?! LOL. If you have read this, leave me a comment. Introduce yourself :D. Or comment on my other blogs please! Especially the discontinued products one as there must be something you can share there! =P

Discontinued Products! Which Do You Miss?

I bought a pack of Starburst the other day. The fruit chew kind. They’re currently £1.00 for a big bag in Tesco! So, if you like them, I suggest you get down there! But anyway, this got me thinking about products that I’ve enjoyed that we no longer see on the shelves. The one I miss the most….Starburst Joosters! They were the tastiest sweets ever!! There are numerous Facebook groups to bring them back, but so far nothing has surfaced. Apparently, you can get them from Disney Land in Florida and they are now called Starburst Original Jellybeans. Release them in the UK, please!Another of my faves was the Peanut Lion Bar. It was great! If you love peanuts, which I do, (Reece’s Cups, Reece’s Pieces, Reece’s Nutrageous Bar) then the Peanut Lion Bar was great. It was so smooth tasting! The Nutrageous Bar is a worthy alternative but it shall never beat the Peanut Lion Bar!! It seems it may be available in Eastern Europe somewhere, but that’s no good! On Tesco Longton’s shelves ASAP please!

What products do you guys miss?

There must be something.

Let me know via comment! :D

My Linux Ubuntu Experience

A couple of weeks ago, I installed the free, open-source operating system known as Linux Ubuntu. It was recommended to me by a friend. Installation wasn't as simple as I'd hoped, regarding hard drive partitions. When I first installed it, I just had to hope that it didn't overwrite my main partition. (I had backed up anyway) but it didn't appear to be very clear about where it was going to install etc. One thing I DID like was the fact you can run it from the CD to try it out before you install it. Later on, I found out that you can install it just like a normal program on your computer, and that it still lets you use it in dual-boot mode automatically.

I installed it to my laptop. (Intel Core 2 duo 1.6Ghz, 2GB RAM, 160gb hard disk) My first impressions were that it wasn't the prettiest of the pack. I couldn't stand the default desktop background and I changed it ASAP. I decided to try and find a way to make it look a lot better by transforming it completely. I did this buy installing a Mac transformation pack, as I personally love the way the Mac OS looks. It's so elegant and clean. This was much better and I was trying out other features of Ubuntu, like the wobbly windows. (They look better in real life than they do on YouTube.) I did notice, though, that even with not many programs open, the fancy CoverFlow style transitions (that substitute the Task Switcher on Windows Vista) started to run very sluggishly! It was a big disappointment. I presume that this is because I am using onboard graphics, however, I have Windows Vista Home Premium on the same machine and the Task Switcher works beautifully, even with lots going on.

Along with Windows was telling me I had 40GB less than I did, this was the final nail in the coffin really, and I decided to restore my laptop back to factory defaults!

Overall, it is an interesting concept and web browsing is nice. The Pidgin Instant Messenger is quite clean and pretty, despite its lack of function. aMSN is an alternative but it's less than attractive. Overall, I think Linux Ubuntu is a good free OS if you want to run your system with no bells and whistles, but otherwise you should just stick to Windows, in my opinion! =)

I give my experience of using Linux Ubuntu 5/10 * * * * *
